Back From Taiwan And Blogging Again!!!!!

Just a short blog for now. Not much in the mood for sitting in front of a pc and typing and stuff.

This is a picture of a temple that is famous in Taipei. It was very small, but very cool and you could smell incense burning constantly. People come and pray for all kinds of things, like good luck on an exam and good health etc...

It was quite funny because one fella took Dave aside and proceeded to teach him all about the spirituality of the temple and the history and the like.

He told Dave to say a prayer and to remember to give his name and address...... Hilarious...... "HE" has to know wherer you live. The Canadian address or the Korean one!!!!!

We walked a hell of a lot while we were there and got to know Taipei quite well. We went on the subway more than 20 times and went to places from one side to the other. We had a good time, but it was very different from what we expected. A little dirtier than Korea and some of the smells were awful.

Scooters everywhere. There were so many, it was unbelievable. Literally millions of them. I guess it is the principal mode of transportation there. People don't drive cars unless they have a fair bit of money. There were also 200,000 taxis in Taipei. That is right, it is not a typing mistake. They were everywhere. We heard that right from a taxi driver and he spoke English very well. He was going to get his boating license in the next month or so. He had lived in Boston for 2 years, or somewhere like that.

Enough for now. Just wanted you all to know that I was back and ready to start telling stories again. I will soon. I promise.

Wishing my niece a very happy 18th birthday on October 11th, 2006. She just started at The University of Toronto and I wish her all the luck in the world at uni as well as a great 18th year. Happy Birthday Katie!!!!!!!!!!
