I think overall England's performance wasn't too bad considering the kick-off temperature was 31 degrees celcius or so. England don't play well in the heat, but they created enough chances to see that the ability is there..... I think so anyway!!!!!
I am just sitting down to watch the Italy vs Australia game and I hope the Italians don't do what this fella here is doing during the game. They are well known for their high calibre acting, but in a bad way. Let's hope that Australia can pull out the upset of the World Cup and knock the Italians off with the help of Harry Kewell; one of Liverpool's best players for sure!
As a former coach myself, I know how difficult it is to pick a starting eleven. This is my team and I had no problem starting any of them. They would do well also as the other team would not be looking at the ball that is for sure!!!!!
Maybe Van Basten of Holland should have chosen better especially by playing Van Nistleroy, who would have finished a couple of those chances that Holland had during the game.
I think he made a few mistakes and it was due to his lack of experience as a coach, never mind him not picking a few veteran players to help the young players through the whole emotional grind of the tournament.
He seems to be a bit of a stubborn coach from what I have heard. Why would he not even have started Van Nistleroy. That is a mystery!!!!
The game has started now, so off to watch an upset hopefully. Today was a hot, sticky, damp day, if you can picture that.
Monday is over and I made it to the gym again. Slowly the fat is coming off. Should be in shape by about 2010.
